NHL at Halfway Point | All-Star Game
The 2022 NHL All-Star Game will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, a 3 Game, 3-on-3 tournament airing on Saturday, February 5th at 3 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN+. Kicking off the All-Star Weekend is the NHL’s Skills Competition on Friday, February 4th at 7:30 p.m. ET airing on ESPN. The Skills Competition will include the Breakaway Challenge, a trick shot competition along with Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot, Accuracy Shooting, and Save Streak for goalies. The NHL also will have a first-ever outdoor All-Star Game Skills Competition this year in Las Vegas with plans to shut down part of Las Vegas Boulevard, including an elaborately staged event from the stunning Fountains of Bellagio.
The NHL announced an update to the regular season 2021-22 schedule to make up the 98 games that had previously been postponed due to the pandemic, including date changes to regular season match-ups using the 16 day period previously reserved for the NHL’s participation in the 2022 Winter Olympics. The NHL pulled out of the Beijing Winter Olympics in January because of the difficulties of scheduling games rising from the pandemic and had to institute a short pause over the holiday break due to several teams dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks.
