Every Unit Gets Its Own Fiber Pair
Most community fiber networks split a single strand among dozens of homes. BroadStar builds an Active Optical Network, or AON. A dedicated fiber pair runs from our equipment straight to the unit, and it serves that unit only.
What dedicated actually means
In a shared network design, one fiber leaves the equipment room and is split among as many as 32 homes. Everyone on that branch draws from the same pool of capacity. It works fine at 10 in the morning. It behaves differently at 8 on a Tuesday night. AON gives every unit its own fiber and its own port on an active switch. There is no split, no shared branch, and no pool to draw down. A resident streaming in 4K does not change what the unit next door gets.
The complaints your board hears are usually an architecture problem
design. This matters most on a long agreement. A bulk contract runs a decade. The architecture your community commits to now is the architecture it lives with through two or three generations of resident bandwidth demand.
Capacity your community will not outgrow
Because each unit already has its own physical path, raising speeds is a change to electronics, not a construction project. No new trenching. No boring under the parking lot. No disruption to residents. The plant your community gets on day one is the plant that carries it through the term.
What we deliver:
- A dedicated fiber pair to every unit, never shared
- Speeds up to 10 Gig symmetrical, with upload that matches download
- No data caps and no peak-hour throttling
- Enterprise Metro Ethernet backbone
- Core network at the iM Critical Data Center in Miami
- WiFi 7 managed gateways with IntelliFi mesh inside the home
- Proactive network monitoring around the clock
What residents notice
Symmetrical upload is the part residents feel and rarely have language for. Video calls stop freezing on their end. Cloud backups finish. Security cameras push clean footage. Someone can be on a work call in one room while another person streams in 4K in the next, and neither one knows the other is there.

already has in the ground.
Our site survey is free and takes one walk-through. We will document the existing infrastructure and show your board what an AON build would look like at your property.
