How to order Video on Demand

You may enjoy Video on Demand if you are subscribed to a BroadStar digital cable package and have an HD DVR set-top box with a connection to High Speed Internet.

Ordering a DISH Cinema movie
DISH Cinema contains thousands of recently released and classic movies. Movies are available in both high definition and standard definition. Many movies are free. Once ordered, DISH Cinema movies are only available for 24 hours.

  • Press the DVR button on your remote
  • Highlight and select "DISH Cinema"
  • Find a movie by using one of the following options:
    • New Releases: Provides the latest movies available on demand
    • Special Offers: Provides featured or other special offer movies
    • Explore Movies: Allows you to browse by genre and other categories
    • Search Movies: Search for a specific title, actor, or keyword
    • My Rentals: Provides a 30-day rental history

  • Select the movie you would like to view and follow the on-screen instructions

1080p Video on Demand Movies
If your TV supports 1080p resolution, you can order some DISH Cinema movies in 1080p. When you attempt to order a 1080p movie, the receiver will perform a test to make sure your TV is compatible. If your TV is not able to display the 1080p movie correctly, a popup message will advise you of the compatible resolutions your TV will support.

The TV Shows section contains thousands of episodes from new and classic TV series. TV Shows are available in both high definition and standard definition. Many episodes are free. Once ordered, TV Shows are only available for 24 hours.

  • Highlight and select "TV Shows"
  • Find a tv show by using one of the following options:
    • Most Popular: The more popular TV shows in our library
    • Browse By Network: Filter based on network
    • Search TV Shows: Search for actor, keyword, or show
    • My Rentals: Your 30-day rental history

  • Select the tv show you would like to view and follow the on-screen instructions
