How to view videos at DishOnline.com
You can stream TONS of TV shows and movies online at DishOnline.com if you are subscribed to a BroadStar digital cable package and High Speed Internet. For additional features, such as browsing and scheduling recordings to your DVR, a DVR set-top box is required as well.
Create an Account at DishOnline.com
- Enter DishOnline.com in your Internet browser's address bar
- Click "Login"
- Click "Don't have an Online ID? Register your DISH account"
- Enter your 10-digit receiver number. If you don't know your receiver number, no problem!
- Press [MENU] twice on your remote
- Receiver number is located on the 2nd line
- Complete the registration process
- Login and enjoy great features!
Watch Videos at DishOnline.com
Some content is exclusive to DISH customers based on programming package. For example, HBO content is available only if you are subscribed to an HBO premium package.

Finding Videos on DishOnline.com
Keyword Search
- Enter the keyword(s) in the Search box to generate results; the search bar will begin to auto-populate content based on your input.
- Select the search results which best fits your request from the displayed content, or select Enter on the keyboard to access the Search Results page.
- Filter the results by selecting Top Results, Shows, Movies or Videos.
Navigating DishOnline.com
Shows
- Select the Shows option to access a list of the different shows available to you.
- You can filter this list by selecting to browse All Shows, or Latest Episodes.
Movies
- Select the Movies option to access a list of the different movies available to you.
- You can filter this list by selecting to browse movies to Watch Online, Watch on TV, or Rent to DVR.
Networks
- Select the Networks option to access a list of the different network logos displaying which stations are available to you.
- Select an individual network logo for more information including available shows on that network.
Guide
- Select the TV Listings option to access the grid view of your programming guide.
- Type in the channel name or number in the search box. Narrow results to HD only by selecting the Show Only HD box.
- Navigate through the grid by selecting the on-screen arrows to view upcoming content, or select the day of the week listed above the grid you wish to view content for.
Creating DVR Timers on DishOnline.com
- Log into DishOnline.com. If you do not already have an account, click on the 'Register your DISH Network account' link and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Select the event you wish to create a DVR timer for
- Select Record to create a timer for this one event. Choose Record again to confirm timer
- Select Record Series to create a reoccurring timer. Choose Only New Episodes or All Episodes, then Record to confirm timer
Ordering Movies on DishOnline.com
- Select the Movies option to display available movies.
- Select Rent to DVR to display content available to purchase.
- Narrow content by selecting Free movies only, HD movies only and / or selecting additional criteria from the drop down lists.
- After making your movie selection, select the Rent option next to the type of video format you wish to view and follow the on-screen instructions.
Please note, video format options will vary based on the movie.
Managing Your DVR on DISHOnline.com
Select View DVR displayed next to the image of the DISH receiver. If there are multiple compatible receivers on the account, select the receiver you wish to manage from the drop down list.
DVR content
- Select the name of the event or series to display available options.
- Select the play icon to begin watching the video. A ViP922 or DISH receiver connected to a Slingbox is required
- Select the delete 'x' icon to delete content to create more room on the receiver's hard drive. Confirm deleting the event when prompted
